Carpet One Ocala Takes Part In Heart Warming Home Renovation

CARPET ONE FLOOR & HOME OF OCALA TEAMS UP WITH OCALA UNITED FOR A FAMILY IN NEED'S HOME RENOVATION.

Carpet One Floor & Home of Ocala, FL owners Gary and Karol Gilbert recently participated in a heart-warming home renovation project for a member of their community.

Ocala United, which is a non-denominational ministry for middle school, high school and college students, managed the project. Matt Overfelt, a member of the ministry, headed up a home renovation project 2 years ago for a family in need, which Ocala Carpet One also participated in, and when Matt felt called again to do a project like this again, the Gilberts were more than happy to participate. Especially when the home was for the family that leads their daughter Hannah’s youth group!

The Whittington family is well known and loved by the Gilberts, and by many others in Ocala, for their generosity and devotion to their youth ministry. The community was more than happy to help with the project to give back to a family that gives so much for others.

The renovations began on July 2nd when the family left for a mission trip in Honduras and Nicaragua. The Ocala United ministry crew, comprised mostly of students who had been positively impacted by Darryl and Jennifer, got to work on the home, doing $175,000 worth of remodeling on the home in just TEN DAYS.

When asked about their experience, Gary & Karol Gilbert said, "It has been an incredible experience to witness first hand what a blessing serving others can be.  Carpet One Floor & Home was able to provide what would have been almost $10,000 worth of flooring to the project with the help from some of our major suppliers such as US Floors contributing Coretec Waterproof Luxury Vinyl Plank, Mohawk providing carpet and Future Foam supplying Healthier Living Cushion."
